  5. You will also need to mouth the words to the song as if you are singing (just the melody of the song)

Vocal Parts Auditions (Submit Video Here: - FLIP GRID CODE - cf768d18)

  1. All students will also learn an a cappella arrangement of a contemporary song (Thinking Out Loud - Ed Sheeran)

  2. For consideration in Remedy, students will need to learn two vocal parts (Sop/Alto) or (Ten/Bass).

  3. For consideration in Flight, students will only need to learn one vocal part

  4. Use the sheet music and tracks on the side of this page to learn the arrangement

  5. Once you've learned the arrangement please record a video of you singing your part with the "Parts Audition Track." If you are wanting to be considered for Remedy, please record ONE video with you singing the arrangement two times in a row, with a different part each time. Pull the tracks up on your computer ahead of time for a quick transition from one track to the next.

  6. Make sure we can see you from your waist up in the video.

Vocal Percussion Auditions (Submit Video Here: - FLIP GRID CODE - 9c710b15)

  1. These auditions are completely optional. If you would like to be considered for VP in Remedy, please follow the instructions below and submit a video. If you are new to Vocal Percussion and would like to only be considered for VP in Flight, please skip 2-6 and go directly to 7.

  2. Listen to the track under the "Audition Materials" section. This track will have cues and a metronome which will play three different tempos. Starting at 60BPM, then 90BPM, and then 120BPM.

  3. The first part of the track asks you to demonstrate a basic beat/pattern in 4/4 time at three different tempos. The pattern can remain the same at all three tempos, but listen to the cues to start and stop.

  4. Once you have demonstrated those three tempos, the track will ask you to freestyle any beat/groove for 30 seconds. You can literally show us anything. After 30 seconds the track will ask you to stop.

  5. Finally, you will be asked to lay down a groove to the "Thinking Out Loud" cut that is being used for the Vocal Parts audition.

  6. Record a video using the "Vocal Percussion Audition Track" - make sure the video shows you from the waist up.

  7. If you are new to Vocal Percussion and would like to be considered for Flight only, please record a 1 minute video of you demonstrating any and all beatboxing skills. You can literally show the judges anything in the video. You can demonstrate the same beat at different tempos, a couple of different kinds of beats, or show us a simple "boots and cats" kind of rhythm. Vocal Percussion is difficult at first, but if you have a desire to try it out, please submit a video.
